5 Ways to Boost your Kids Summer Break Fun

“People don’t notice whether it’s winter or summer when they’re happy”
– Anton Chekhov

Well, I beg to differ !

Summer vacations are the most awaited time of the year, because of the long off that children get. There are a lot of activities that can be tried. But then there is a little wobbly cloud of confusion. And that is: How the vacations should be planned to get the most juice out of it.
So here are some of the ways that make sure you and your kid are going to have genuine fun, this summer:

Travel
There are many places children read about in their textbooks and some of those must have intrigued them for sure. Ask them about such places, choose the one (or more) which your child likes the best and plan a trip to the same, to let them discover how the things they read about, are in the real life. This is a great way for them to develop the capability to relate with things they learned about and that those are not just chapters in their books.
Outdoors
Outdoor activities are considered the best way to replenish energy levels. Not only they keep you fit but also keep you sharp, so that you can actively enjoy throughout the schedule. Emphasize a lot on outdoor activities. Playing in the open gives your kid, a sense of freedom and self-responsibility.
Team sports like football, basketball, baseball are known to inculcate leadership qualities & team work approach. Also, they develop a trait of faster decision-making. Also, outdoor activities are a great way for kids to interact among each other, making them smarter and more social. All these benefits of outdoor activities provide for overall development of your child.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Extra-curricular talent is a major source of self-confidence in a person. Not only they help us stand out in a group of people but also incur a sense of pride and uniqueness within. Help your kids in finding their interest (if they haven’t yet) and nurture it. Ask them about the things they are interested in and embolden them about their choice.
There are a number of short-term courses available, run during summer breaks exclusively for children, that provide training in desired fields. Encourage your kids to enroll in such courses, which could be one of the reasons for your kid’s huge success in future.
Read On
The more you read, the more you are piling up new ideas in your mind. After all, words are representatives of ideas. A strong vocabulary is necessary for a person to be expressive enough to face tomorrow’s challenges. And what could be a better opportunity for kids to improve their vocabulary than the summer break.
Avid readers tend to have better communication skills and understanding of the language. Reading suitable sci-fi novels make kids more imaginative, inculcating qualities like problem-solving attitude, pattern recognition etc. One of the most significant benefits of book reading is that it takes a lot of patience to read through the book to find what happens in the end. This makes your child more assertive and patient.
What more could you ask for?

Catch-up
Last but not the least, your kid might not like this piece of advice very much. Summer vacations are a symbol of relaxation for kids. So, for those kids who are not very good in academics or are basically turbulent, this is an excellent window for improvement, as a relaxed mind is more perspicacious.
Make sure your kid catches up with the topics and concepts, he, due to any reason, couldn’t assimilate in the classroom. Make a list of such topics from each subject and plan to make him cover these topics through self-study or tuition , according to the number of days available for the summer vacations.
Homework must be at the top of the ‘To-do’ list as it is an excellent way to keep in touch with academics, along with the exquisite fun.
Summer vacations are meant to be enjoyed and following these tips makes sure you have an incredible summer. So, buckle up and start planning from today, because time flies.
